Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Annual Scholarship
Barbara Barrington Jones established the Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation Annual Scholarship in 2016 to benefit financially needy Utah Valley University students. Preference for the scholarship is given to a student who is an ambassador for the Women’s Success Center.
Barbara Barrington Jones is a world-renowned author, professional motivational speaker, and image consultant who aims to make a difference in the lives of women. She is the CEO of the nonprofit BBJ Family Foundation, which is dedicated to helping women of all ages throughout the world to realize their full potential and lead more fulfilling and productive lives.
Each year, the foundation sponsors a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints camp for teenage girls, an LDS Church women’s retreat, a student mentoring program on the BYU-Hawaii campus, and Barbara’s extensive speaking engagements. The foundation has funded many scholarships for organizations all over the world, including the Organization of Young Mothers and Students in Free Enterprise.
Barbara has written six books and has been a public speaker for over 25 years with the Nationals Speakers Association. Traveling worldwide and lecturing in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Central America, South America, Korea, and England, she speaks to women, teens, and couples. She currently sponsors seminars in South America on “La Verdera Belleza,” The True Beauty, supports four preschools in Africa, and provides assistance for Chinese and Cambodian orphanages.
As a fashion designer and former professional classical ballerina, actress, and model, as well as author of five image-building and instructive books for women, parents, and teens, she has taken twenty-one pageant winners to national titles. With her background, she helps bring out the best in people, gives hope to those who have little or no hope, love to those who have never felt loved, a listening ear to those who have never had the courage to talk, and a hug to those who have never been hugged.
In addition, Barbara is the major stockholder and executive board member of O.C. Jones Construction Company. Barbara is the director of the International Institute of Professional Protocol and serves on the President’s Leadership Council at BYU-Hawaii. She is an active board member of the Portland Ballet and the President’s Leadership Committee at Brigham Young University. She was recently named Utah’s Woman Making a Difference.
Barbara has two children and six grandchildren.
